Here comes color into play

Color treatment ex works:

For many products SKAN HOLZ offers a color treatment ex works. Your advantage: You can start assembling directly after delivery.

Terrace canopies, carports, gazebos and canopies:

As a standard, we process untreated solid construction timber, glued timber and Douglas fir, as well as spruce impregnated with salts. In this way, you have all the possibilities to provide individual color matching and comprehensive weather protection yourself. For these products we offer you a primer including light-fast, colored first coat. The glaze is applied by four-sided machine brushing of the wooden parts. Due to technical reasons, traces of deposition cannot be avoided.

For our log houses we process Nordic spruce. The logs and corner panels are color-treated on the outside, the roof panels as well as windows and doors on both sides. The inner sides of the logs as well as cut edges, floor, roof boarding and purlins are untreated due to the production process. The paint is applied by three-sided machine spraying. All untreated parts of the kit attached to the exterior (e.g. roof undersides or purlins projecting outside) are unprotected and must be treated on site with primer and then at least once with glaze. Please also observe the glaze manufacturer's instructions.

CrossCube:

The construction consists of weather-resistant, cement-bonded wood fiber boards and a wooden frame. The facade panels are color-treated on the outside and primed on the inside. The wooden frames are color-treated slate gray. Like a house facade, the facade panels require regular painting to compensate for weathering. Weathering, efflorescence, small cracks or green coating, as they also occur on house facades, are possible.

Good to know

Any damage to our coating due to transport or construction can be compensated for by the glaze supplied (repair quantity). On site, the wood surface can be further refined by intermediate sanding with fine-grained sandpaper and an additional coat of paint.

Wood used outdoors is exposed to constant weathering. We therefore recommend renovation coats with a water-based wood stain at maintenance intervals of approx. 4 - 5 years, but at the latest before visible damage. Please note that due to their nature, kits made of impregnated spruce and Douglas fir can only be supplied by us treated in a darker shade.

To determine the amount of paint required, multiply wood surface of the kit by 80ml glaze/sqm. For the primer, double the amount. This requirement may vary depending on dryness, primers or processing. For wood finishes, see our technical product descriptions.
